For the first chapter of my life, I had a career in Finance.  My educational background is one of Business and Economics, but I have been painting and winning art contest since childhood.  I am an artist who is self-taught, with no formal education. However for as long as I can recall, I remember being able to draw and paint.    In my work I strive explore the splendor of nature by creating contrast in Landscapes, the beauty and movement of Geodes, and the sensual lines of flowers and trees.    Every painting starts with a traditional vision of a place or an object.  It is then darkened enough to create the illusion of being in two worlds. Backgrounds are often bright and light.  The foregrounds, primarily in the form of trees, mountains and flowers are dark, in many cases black or grey, creating contrast and drama.  Many of my compositions are representations of my experiences, in particular what I see when simple objects are posed to portray sensual dances between them and light.   I have always aspired to capture nature in my own distinctive style.  People who really know me say that there exists within me a dark side that comes out through in my work.  I feel that through painting I can reveal everything about myself, exposing many layers as an artist and person.  A work of art is but a true expression of oneself.
